Michael Hagertythe popular actor who gave life to Sr. Treeger in Friends, has died at the age of 67 from causes that have not yet been confirmed. This was explained on social networks by his co-stars who were saying goodbye to one of the renowned secondary comics on American television.
“It is with great sadness that the family of Michael G. Hagerty announced his death yesterday in Los Angeles. A beloved actor, his love for his hometown of Chicago and his family were the cornerstones of his life. Mike, a devoted husband, leaves wife Mary Kathryn, sister Mary Ann Hagerty, his partner Kathleen O’Rourke and their daughter Meg. He will be sorely missed,” Bridget Everett’s Instagram post reads.
Bridget played the actor’s daughter in the series Somebody somewhere HBO and also wanted to say goodbye to the interpreter: “I loved Mike from the moment I met him. He was so special. Charming, funny, he never made you feel strange. We are devastated by his death. Mike was adored by the entire cast and the Somebody Somewhere crew. Our thoughts are with his wife and family.”
Mike Hagerty played in several episodes of the popular sitcom Friends the character of Treeger, the maintenance man of the building where the protagonists of the NBC sitcom lived. The artist from Chicago (Illinois, United States) was one of the luxury supporting cast on American television, although he not only participated in comedies such as Cheers, Lucky Louie, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Seinfeld but also in dramas like ER or Deadwood.
In Friends, Michael Hagerty appeared in five chapters very sporadically during the first seasons. In some of them he had a greater role, such as the one in which Joey needs to learn to dance and learns from the maintenance man.
Through the series’ official Instagram account, he has received a beautiful tribute with images from that episode: “The #FRIENDS family is mourning the loss of Mike Hagerty, our very own Mr. Treeger. Our thoughts are with his family, friends , colleagues, and fans. Here’s to one last dance! ❤️” (“The Friends family is mourning the loss of Mike Hagerty, our Mr. Treeger. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and fans. This was his last Dance”).
Let the earth be mild.
