MICE | Baden-Wuerttemberg Tourism Network

Meetings, incentives, congresses and exhibitions (MICE for short) are of great importance for tourism. In 2018, around 180,000 events with 26.3 million participants took place at the locations surveyed in Baden-Württemberg. In addition to the number of event locations, the number of occupancy days in Baden-Württemberg is higher than in Germany (on average around 12 days above the Germany value). The conference and event industry plays a prominent role in all regions of the country. Due to the economic strength and the density of large and medium-sized companies in all regions, there is enormous potential. *

In order to further strengthen and market the high potential of the state, both a MICE advisory board and a round of talks with selected members of the convention bureaus for an overarching cooperation were launched in autumn 2020. Advisory board members are currently: Stuttgart, BWIHK, Lake Constance region, Upper Black Forest, Upper Swabia, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden and Freiburg.

Marketing activities

The working group develops quality standards for special conference locations in Baden-Württemberg (with a focus on shop window products) in order to be able to appear on the MICE market as an attractive MICE location in both cities and rural areas. In addition to joint market research for future trends, the focus is also on image marketing for B2C offers.

Organisation

The MICE Advisory Board meets up to four times a year to discuss joint measures and the strategic direction and to exchange ideas.
