The microfinance bank, Mibanco, launched the ‘Mujeres pa lante’ line of credit, designed so that women who need resources for working capital and / or the acquisition of fixed assets for their micro-enterprises, can access these with a term of up to 18 months, for a minimum amount of $ 200,000 and up to $ 5 million for renovations.
According to the latest annual financial inclusion report, despite the fact that women present lower levels of delinquency than men, the average amount they receive for a loan turns out to be lower. In the microcredit portfolio, women get $ 800,000 less than men for small loans.
This line is aimed at women who carry out an activity as independent and who are characterized by good management of their finances.
During the first quarter of the year, 6,728 women contracted loans with the entity, which represents 60% of the new loans granted.
This product is available in 84 offices distributed throughout the national territory and by September it will be offered in the entire network of the Bank.
Those interested can access ‘Mujeres pa’lante’ by filling out the form “Request your credit” on the website www.mibanco.com.co to evaluate the coverage and start the assessment and granting process.
“Colombia is a country in which more than 50% of the population are women and, paradoxically, this population is one of those with the least access to the financial system. From Mibanco we want to contribute to promote gender equality, betting on the generation of greater financial inclusion and working so that more and more women achieve their personal goals independently ”, concluded Gregorio Mejía, president of the entity.
