Brightline, the company in charge of travel between Miami and Orlando through the newly launched fast train, announced that it will increase its frequency soon.
Barely 15 days have passed since its first official commercial trip and the company already intends to double its rail service. This is an ideal and affordable option for those who want to visit the Disney and Universal theme parks.
For four years the company was in charge of developing the track extension. In this way, West Palm Beach was linked to the Orlando International Airport. The official premiere was last September 22. Just that day, the investment of $6 billion dollars and the 170-mile link between both points came to an end.
Experts from the Brightline company told the Miami Herald that travelers will soon have more rail service. “We started the service with a limited schedule that includes six round trips, and we hope to reach 15 in a matter of weeks.”
Fast and safe travel
The train ride between Miami and Orlando is quick, especially after passing West Palm Beach. The route is about 235 miles and takes approximately three and a half hours. Brightline’s train reaches speeds of up to 125 miles per hour. The initial prices were affordable, for example adults pay $79.00 USD and children pay $39.00 USD.
Brightline confirmed that Orlando is the company’s sixth stop and first outside of South Florida. The already renowned company began its operations in 2018. Then, it connected Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The Boca Raton and Aventura stations opened last year.
Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline, gave the good news about the extension of services earlier this week.
The executive stated that “the company’s priorities in Florida include the construction of a station along the Treasure Coast between West Palm Beach and Cocoa in the next five years.” Likewise, they intend to expand services from Orlando to Tampa.
