Miami mayor welcomes New York displaced people to city

The mayor of Miami said on Sunday that New Yorkers are welcome in the city – Benefiting from relatively low tourist taxes and the “best quality of life”.

“Our arms are open in Miami. The flight lasts two hours. You will save a lot on your cost of living. You will save a lot of taxes, ”Mayor Francis Suarez said at WABC 770’s“ The Cats Roundtable ”.

“You will enjoy the best quality of life and you will be able to buy a property at a fraction of the price,” he added. “You don’t have to sacrifice or suffer, because now all the financial firms are moving to Miami, all the venture capital firms that are in Silicon Valley are moving too. [to Miami]. ”

The comments came when radio host John Katsimatidis asked Cuban-American Paul, whose city is home to many former and wealthy New Yorkers living in the Empire State, for his message to the Big Apple.

“We will be the most dynamic and attractive city to start a business, build a life and raise your children,” said the mayor of Miami of his vision for the city. “We are a pro-capitalist city that welcomes immigrants.”

Suarez – a low-tax Republican pro-cop – says Miami has attracted people from overseas, due to “imbalances” in South American countries ruled by leftist leaders.

“We are taking advantage of imbalances in other regions,” he said. “If you are a government and you don’t treat your citizens the way you should treat them – you don’t protect them, or you overtax them, or worse, in some communist countries in South America… you take their property away from them, you go out of business and… jail people who oppose the government, sometimes without due process, and leave them no choice but to leave.
