Miami Heat regained sixth place in the East with its 112-121 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves where a Tyler Herro stood out as he returned to the park after six games out due to foot problems.
The young guard scored 27 points in 29 minutes with a 10 of 13 shooting from the field and an outstanding 6 of 8 in triples. The veteran Goran Dragic accompanied him with 23 points and the Miami bench was far superior by 57-19.
“The best plans are being pushed aside at this time of year,” Spoelstra told ESPN about Herro’s return. “He has young legs. You can see that it was very fresh, “he added.
With their victory against Minneapolis and Boston’s defeat against Chicago, the Heat return to direct access positions to the playoffs, being sixth at 36-31, and are one game away from the New York Knicks (4th) and in the middle of the Atlanta Hawks (5th).
Spoelstra’s men will risk their future in the next two games, which will be on May 9 and 12 against the Boston Celtics, now seventh in the table and who are on their heels with 35-32.
“It’s playoff time,” noted Tyler Herro.
“Right now I don’t care about points. I want to go back to the playoffs. That is the most important thing for us ”, added his partner Dragic.
Regarding the T-Wolves, they have three losses in a row after accumulating four consecutive victories previously. Karl-Anthony Towns led his offense with 27 points; followed by rookie Anthony Edwards with 25 points; and D’Angelo Russell with 17, who was sent off in the third quarter for double technique.
“The classification does not matter. It doesn’t matter how many games are left. We are trying to build something great here, ”Towns said.
