Miami Dolphins dominate New Orleans Saints

The Miami Dolphins clinched a seventh straight victory on Monday over the New Orleans Saints (20-3) in the last game of Day 16 of the NFL regular season. Only the Kansas City Chiefs, who qualified the day before for the play-offs, are doing better, with an ongoing series of eight straight wins. With two days to go to the end of the regular season, Miami can still dream of the finals.

The Dolphins won against a Saints team decimated by 22 absences, most of them due to Covid-19. The Louisiana team had established as quarterback the young Ian Book (23), who played the first game of his career in the NFL. He is the fourth Saints QB to play this season, after Jameis Winston (with a knee injury), Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill (both on Covid protocol).

Book suffered, being sacked eight times and conceding two interceptions. One of them, signed Nik Needham, was returned for a touchdown in the first minutes of the match. Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami quarterback, has thrown 196 yards and a TD pass for Jaylen Waddle.
