The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has started an electrical audit of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 to address the power outage that occurred on Labor Day. In partnership with Meralco, the audit is expected to be completed in three weeks and will determine which equipment needs upgrading, rehabilitation, or purchasing to improve the power system’s reliability. The MIAA has estimated that it will need around P1 billion to establish backup power for NAIA Terminal 3. The agency is also exploring the possibility of renting additional generator sets to expand the terminal’s backup power capacity. Stay informed with related stories on this issue.
