Mi Health is a health and fitness app launched by Xiaomi in July 2019 with some features such as tracking steps, sleep and menstrual cycle. With MIUI 12 Xiaomi has introduced enhancements for the pedometer, new sleep monitoring features and a reminder for sedentaries, while now Xiaomi is adding heart rate monitoring as well.
What’s new in the Mi Health app 2.7.4
The latest update to version 2.7.4 of the Mi Health app introduces the new heart rate monitoring function via the smartphone camera. The function is accessible by touching the relative button in the lower right corner and it will be enough to completely cover the camera and the flash of the device with a finger until the detection is complete, after which the app will ask you to select your current physical state among general, rest and post-exercise.
The report will include your heart rate and a colored bar highlighting whether your heart rate is slow, normal or fast, while the dashboard will show all heart rate data collected over a given time period.
How to update the Mi Health app
Support for heart rate monitoring is rolling out with version 2.7.4 of the Mi Health app and is expected to reach Xiaomi smartphones in the coming days.
