An Mi-8 helicopter with 20 people on board crashed in Russia: there were deaths
In the Magadan region of the aggressor country of Russia on the morning of Thursday, March 14, a Mi-8 helicopter crashed. There were more than 20 people on board. According to preliminary data, two people died.
Russian propaganda publications reported this. According to Russian media, a Russian helicopter fell in the area of the Kvartsevaya Sopka deposit in the North Evensky district of the region, 13 kilometers from the village of Kvartsevy.
The Mi-8 was carrying 20 workers from one of the local mines, and there were also two crew members on board. The fate of the remaining people on board is unknown.
“According to preliminary data, when transporting shift workers to the area of the accident, there were difficult weather conditions, the equipment could not withstand it, the human factor is also being considered,” said the emergency services of the aggressor country.
Later they stated that the crash of the Mi-8 with the workers could have been caused by an engine failure in difficult weather conditions.
Rescuers are heading to the scene of the accident.
Russian publications write that the flight was carried out to transport gold mine workers.
Let us recall that on March 12 in Russia, an Il-76 plane caught fire over the Severny airfield in the Ivanovo region. The plane crashed and black smoke rose above the accident site. As a result of the incident, 16 Russian servicemen from Tver and Orenburg self-destructed. Previously, pilots from the aggressor country were on board as passengers. As OBOZ.UA reported, on the night of March 13 drones attacked three Russian oil refineries at once – in Ryazan, Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod region) and Kirishi (Leningrad region). These strikes are a continuation of a series of special operations against enemy refineries, launched earlier by the Ukrainian special service.
