“Mi-8 Helicopter Crash in Bryansk Region: Possible Missile Strike or Engine Combustion?”

Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Bryansk region, Russia, reports TASS, referring to the emergency services. The helicopter crashed in the town of Klintsi, about 50 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. According to preliminary data, the accident was due to spontaneous combustion of the engine, according to TASS. Ukrainian agencies report, however, about published videos on social networks, which show that the helicopter was hit, possibly by a missile. The assumption is that it is about the operation of the anti-aircraft system.

There is no information at this stage about the fate of the crew.

Debris from the helicopter is still being searched. Russian agencies do not confirm that the helicopter was Russian, unlike the Ukrainian ones, which claim this.

We recall that a Mi-28 helicopter crashed on Friday during a training flight in the Dzhankoy region of Crimea. The military airfield in the Dzhankoy area was attacked by Ukrainian or Russian guerrillas on August 16 last year, when several Russian warplanes were destroyed.

In January 2023, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine crashed near a kindergarten near Kyiv, killing the country’s Interior Minister Denis Monastirsky.

In November 2022, a private helicopter also crashed in the Tver region of Russia, killing two people
