PERTH, KOMPAS.com – A recently found fragment of the wreckage of passenger plane MH370 confirms that one of the pilots deliberately lowered the plane’s landing gear.
This seems to support the theory that the plane was deliberately dropped.
Reported by 9 Newsa Boeing 777 plane went missing on March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing with 239 people on board, including six Australians.
The plane’s disappearance is one of aviation’s biggest mysteries.
Damage to the Malaysia Airlines jet’s landing gear door, found by fishermen in Madagascar last month, is the first physical evidence to suggest that one of the pilots intentionally squashed the plane.
Incredibly, the fisherman didn’t realize how important this piece of waste was.
His wife has used it as a wash house since she found it on the beach in 2017, three years after MH370 went missing.
The find was revealed in a new report this week by British engineer Richard Godfrey and American MH370 wreck hunter Blaine Gibson.
They suggest that debris from the landing gear known as a trunnion door may have been penetrated from the interior by the plane’s engine which shattered on impact.
This suggests that the landing gear may have been down when the plane crashed into the Indian Ocean eight years ago.
During emergency water landings, pilots are trained to retract the aircraft’s landing gear and lower the flaps to ensure a controlled, low-speed landing.
However, it is believed that MH370’s wings were not retracted to slow the aircraft’s speed and lengthen the landing gear. This would have caused the fuselage to collapse once the plane hit the sea at high speed.
Wearing landing gear would also increase the likelihood of a plane sinking rapidly, reducing evacuation time for survivors.
In their new report, Godfrey and Gibson say the plane crashed on purpose.
“The fact that the damage occurred from the inboard side to the outboard side…leads to the conclusion that the landing gear was significantly extended on impact, which in turn supports the conclusion that there was an active pilot up to at the end of the flight,” the report reads.
“The extent of the damage with cracks on all sides and the extreme penetrating forces and the penetrating debris led to the conclusion that the end of that flight turning into a high speed dive was probably designed to ensure that the plane fell apart,” he said. added.

One of the prevailing theories about how to fly MH370 crashed is that Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, a veteran Malaysia Airlines pilot, intentionally crashed the plane into the sea.
The damaged landing gear door created a series of cuts point MH370 found in Madagascar and handed over to the authorities at 19.
