A pre-production unit of the Cyberster, MG’s spectacular new sports car, has made its first appearance at a special event held at the MG Motor UK headquarters in Marylebone, London. Director of Advanced Design Carl Gotham and his Marylebone team, who have played a key role in creating the Cyberster, unveiled the pre-production model for the first time.
Removing the cover, Carl commented: “This is a special moment for all of us who have been involved in the design of this unique car. The Cyberster will offer MG customers a compelling electric roadster that will be just as exciting as MG sports cars of the past.”
To celebrate the highly anticipated arrival of the Cyberster, MG has created a film about the design history of this project. With Carl Gotham as the protagonist, he shows how his team has created a sports car that will become the first electric roadster on the market.
Conceived by Gotham and colleagues at MG’s Advanced Design Studio in London, the Cyberster’s styling draws on MG’s heritage, with a distinctive design that includes a long bonnet, low front end and curvaceous surfaces. The Cyberster will also introduce some surprising new features, such as scissor doors and a “Kammback” rear design.
The two-seater Cyberster marks MG’s long-awaited return to sports car production, with a car that traces the brand’s history with a high-performance all-electric powertrain and a modern cabin featuring advanced driving technology.
You can see here the film about the design of Cyberster.
The Cyberster is scheduled to arrive in the UK and Europe in summer 2024. MG will announce further details about its first public appearance this summer shortly.
