MG, a sub-brand of the Chinese concern SAIC, offers a new electric drive model. It’s the MG4 Electric XPOWER, endowed with dynamics worthy of a sports car.
The new model has two motors and all-wheel drive. Both engines produce a total power of 320 kW (435 hp) and up to 600 Nm of torque, which is enough to run from 0 to 100 km/h in the equivalent time of high-performance cars – in 3.8 seconds.
The manufacturer has stated that the MG4 Electric XPOWER consumes 18.7 kWh per 100 km and can travel 385-536 km (in the city) with a fully charged battery.
In addition to high performance, the MG4 Electric XPOWER is equipped with technologies that help control power distribution and improve the driving experience when cornering. For the first time in MG models, an all-new dynamic cornering control system is used, which includes an electronic limited slip differential and intelligent engine management. It ensures precise torque distribution between all four wheels, guaranteeing even better grip and stability.
The MG4 Electric XPOWER has a modified suspension, stiffer anti-roll bars and more responsive steering. The overall rigidity of the chassis has been increased by up to 25 percent, while the improved braking system reduces the stopping distance from 100 to 0 km/h to 33.9 meters.
Visually, the sporty model stands out with new 18-inch alloy wheels, orange brake calipers, a two-tone roof and the exclusive Hunter Green color.
The MG4 Electric XPOWER will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 13. The high-performance model will be available to order the same day. Price – from 44,312 euros.
