After the launch of the new HS, MG continues to update its model range. Next on the list is the ZS SUV, which uses a hybrid engine with nearly 200 hp.
MG is increasingly present on the European markets, including Romania. The British-Chinese manufacturer has released the first teasers of its future subcompact SUV, a model that will compete with the Dacia Duster.
The new generation of the ZS SUV will officially appear on August 28, 2024 and will benefit from a completely new design, similar to what we saw at the new MG3 and his older brother, MG HS.
The first teaser shows a completely redesigned body that adheres to the manufacturer’s latest design language. At the front, there are aggressive LED headlights on either side of the grille, and on the sides of the car we see sculpted shoulders at the top of the doors.
The rear is reminiscent of the new MG3 hatchback, but the design isn’t the only thing it shares with that model.
The new MG ZS will use a hybrid engine

The Hybrid + system consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, which develops 102 HP, together with a 136 HP electric motor. When both engines work at the same time, the total power of the system reaches 194 HP.
Along with these, the Hybrid + system uses a three-speed automatic transmission, and the energy is stored in a 1.83 kWh battery. The new configuration should make the upcoming ZS much more efficient compared to its non-electric predecessor. Especially now Duster the hybrid engine got 140 hp.
It is also assumed that the new model will also be available with a turbo engine, on gasoline, but also in a purely electric version. The future MG ZS will be presented on August 28.
