MFF is clearly based on Öland – Lewicki misses the premiere

Allsvenskt genrep against IFK Göteborg. Leading players such as Oscar Lewicki, Sören Rieks and Johan Dahlin are missing in MFF.
– It’s like a construction site during the training matches. It may look a little different from time to time, but now is the time we can try the building components, says MFF coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.

An all-Swedish premiere team will be formed. Oscar Lewicki will not be included.

– He is an important player for the team. It is wrong to say anything else, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The last training before the Gothenburg match inside the MFF stadium, it was full speed on the hybrid.

But Oscar Lewicki continued to work for himself.

– It has taken longer than I thought to come back after the injury. There have been some setbacks.

Lewicki does not want to go into what type of injury it is.

– I do not want to comment on that. Then Pontus Wernbloom will pick it up and kick me there, Lewicki says half jokingly and half seriously.

Dahlin has started training in the goalkeeper group but is not involved in two-goal games yet. Sören Rieks has a minor injury.

– He stretched his back when he was going to pick up a toy at home. It’s not that dangerous with him, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.

On Friday, it is time for a match against the spring recruiting team IFK Gothenburg. After all the new additions to the squad, first challenger to last year’s champion team Malmö FF,

– We love competition. It goes without saying that Gothenburg will be strong, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.

The MFF coach builds on with the team parts he has.

– Against Örebro it sometimes looked really good. And when we came out on the hybrid grass and trained this week, we also saw in the boys that it was different. They ran differently, they participate differently in the game. Getting out on the grass is clearly an advantage for us, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.

No more training match after the Gothenburg match is planned for the Allsvenskan premiere against Hammarby on April 10.

– We run an internal match on Friday next week. Then it will be Öland for a few days, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.

After Good Friday’s match, there will be a free Easter Eve and then a three-day camp on Öland, away on Sunday and home on Tuesday.

– Then we get the opportunity to practice on small details.

Is it an Allsvenskan starting eleven we will see start against Gothenburg?

– A lot will happen before then. Right now I am most looking forward to getting on the grass at the Stadium, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.
