The fact that no host has been found for the stage is strongly criticized. Riga City Council Chairman Mārtiņš Staķis (APP) accuses the previous council term of “objective thinking”: to invest millions in objects without thinking about how to fill them with content. In turn, a deputy, former chairman of the Riga City Council Oleg Burov (GKR) says that the current decision-making body is obviously not particularly interested in culture – 100 days of this council term have passed, but the host’s stage is still missing.
The Grand Stage of Mežaparks and the adjacent fenced territory have been managed by SIA “Rīgas meži” since 2009.
