Mexico to Acquire Cuban Vaccine Abdala for Winter Season: 40 Million Doses to be Administered

The vaccines that the federal government will acquire will be of the Cuban brand Abdala, which will be applied in the winter season.

Mexico will buy around 40 million vaccines against covid-19 to apply during the next winter season.

The head of the Ministry of Health, Jorge Alcocer, informed that the acquisition of the doses will be of the Cuban vaccine, Ratherwhose delivery is still pending.

In addition to other manufacturers with whom there is already a dialogue to acquire the doses. The Secretary of Health reported that the Mexican vaccine Patria will also be part of immunological that will be applied during the campaign.

The groups that will be prioritized will be older adults, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as pregnant women.

“The Homeland is already being manufactured because it will not be enough for the need because all the elderly have to be vaccinated, all those who have disabilities and pregnant women. We have already purchased, since last year, Abdala vaccines ”.

In addition, the Secretary of Health stressed the importance of converting the healthcare system in a universal model where everyone has the same opportunities, regardless of entitlementsocioeconomic level or place of residence.

For this reason, he highlighted the need for a quality assessment model that allows, in the medium and long term, to obtain indicators of productivity and satisfaction of the users of the health services.

The indicators would be: chance, equity, sufficiencywarmth and humanism in the services, which are granted in the field of health.
