Mexico U20 started the Concacaf World Cup with aplomb. They were lethal in their tournament debut. They beat Haiti 4-0 in a competition that awards a total of four spots for the 2025 World Cup.
After the disappointment of not qualifying for the last championship in 2023, the task for the Mexican team, in the midst of the crisis that several categories are going through, is to return no matter what.

With the Mexican fans cheering them on, Yael Padilla, Heriberto Jurado, Xavier Biscayzacú and Amaury Gutiérrez were in charge of guiding Mexico to victory. Mexico’s next opponent is Guatemala. The match will be played this Wednesday, while the group stage will close on Saturday against Panama.
The top two teams from each group (A, B and C) and the two (2) best third-placed teams advance to the quarter-finals. The nations that make it through this round will automatically qualify for the World Championship in their category.
