The Health Secretary This Wednesday, the federal government reported 11,138 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 nationwide, as well as 1,328 new deaths from the disease.
The official number of accumulated infections in Mexico amounted to 1 million 957,889; while the number of documented deaths reached 169,760 people.
At a press conference at the National Palace, Jose Luis Alomía Zegarra, CEO of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Healthsaid that the health authority estimates that at the national level there are 67,536 active cases throughout the country, that is, people who have presented symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days. The current positivity rate is 59.3 percent, the fatality rate 8.7%, and the death rate 134 percent.
Although the federal health authority has confirmed 1 million 957,889 accumulated cases of people who acquired the disease since February 28, 2020, it estimates that the real cases amount to 2 million 154,033 cases, of which 1 million 519,572 people were recovered. While the country has taken a nasopharyngeal sample for a PCR test 4 million 978,871 people in public hospitals.

In total in the country there are 369,002 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in public hospitals.
Of the 35,205 general beds for severe Covid-19 patients, 48% (16,911) are occupied, mainly in Mexico City with 77%; Morelos with 73%; State of Mexico with 73%; Puebla with 67%; Guanajuato with 64%; Hidalgo with 63%; Guerrero with 59% and Nuevo León with 54 percent.
Out of the 11,540 beds with mechanical ventilators for critical Covid-19 patients, 45% (5,183) are occupied in the country, mainly in: Mexico City with 75%; State of Mexico with 60%; Aguascalientes with 56%; Nuevo León with 55%; Colima with 57% and Oaxaca with 50 percent.
