Tucson (KVOA) – National teams play at Hillanbrand Stadium, operating everywhere except the Arizona softball field.
The Mexico team beat the Wild Gates 3-2 on Saturday night in an exhibition game. This is the second year in a row that a national softball team has lost at home in the United Arab Emirates. The team won 5-4 at Duson last season.

Teja Mulibola’s first inning was a two-run home run for Arizona. The Mexico team scored three home runs. Last of Seychelles Palacios in seventh place. Palacios is the older sister of UA Catcher Charlize Palacios.
UAE Wildcat All-American pitchers Daniel O’Toole (’18) and Taylor McQueen (’19) took most of the game for Mexico.
O’Toole pitched three innings and allowed Mulibola Homer. McQueen released O’Dwyer in fourth place and pitched three scoreless, hitless innings with two strikeouts.
Another Wildcat brigade from Ponte played in left field for the rojiblancos y verde, finishing the game 1-3 at the plate.
The game was originally scheduled to be played last season, but was canceled due to an infection.
In Wild Gates’ regular season game of the day, Malia Martinez fell twice and scored six runs, while eighth-ranked Arizona dominated New Mexico 8-0 in five innings.
This is the UAE’s tenth consecutive victory (24-5) and the twenty-second in a row.
