In the opening of the tournament, the Netherlands beat Panama 9-8. The two best teams in the sector will advance to the super round to be held in Japan and where they will face the finalists of bracket B, which includes Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Australia, South Korea, Chinese Taipei and the ninth Japanese team.
