Mexico reached 300,101 deaths from coronavirus amid a substantial increase in infections due to the omicron variant and with long lines in public and private centers to be tested for covid, while the Government seeks to accelerate vaccination.
The country exceeds 2,300 deaths per million inhabitants, far from the rates of more than 6,000 registered in Peru -the country with the highest rate-, but with an excess of mortality that leads experts to agree that the figure of 300,101 dead, it falls short of the real one and would be close to half a million.
