Mexico exceeds 173 thousand deaths from COVID by adding 1,214 deaths

Health authorities registered 1,214 more deaths from COVID-19, for a total of 173 thousand 771 deaths confirmed by the virus.

So far in the epidemic, it is estimated that 2,183,193 people have become ill from the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

It is estimated that 67,939 (3%) are active cases of COVID for presenting symptoms in the last 14 days.

At the national level, 43% of general hospital beds are occupied. Only Mexico City registers an occupancy of more than 70%.

In beds with fans, the occupancy percentage is 42%. Mexico City has an occupancy of 70%, and four entities (Tlaxcala, Oaxaca, Edomex and Nuevo León) between 69% and 50%.

The cumulative advance of COVID-19 vaccine applications at the national level, as of February 13, is 726 thousand 313 doses applied.

As of February 15, 21 entities in the country will maintain the color orange (high level) in the Epidemiological Traffic Light of risk for COVID-19. Only Guanajuato and Guerrero remain in red, while eight entities are in yellow.

Chiapas is the only state with a green traffic light and is a candidate to start the vaccination campaign among teachers of the entity.
