The government of Mexico, through its embassy in Cuba, and the Mexican company Richmeat donated 100 tons of meat to support the island after the hurricane. Oscarwhich impacted the Caribbean country last week and left seven dead and serious material damage.

This is 100 tons of seasoned minced meat, which is equivalent to 250 thousand packages of 400 grams each, with which 750 thousand servings of prepared food can be prepared, according to an information note released by Richmeat, a firm that has a presence in Cuba, and which was the first foreign firm to invest in the Special Development Zone of the port of El Mariel (ZEDM), to the west of the island.
The donation, which will be transported in five refrigerated trailers this same day, will be delivered tomorrow to the Ministry of Internal Trade of the Province of Guantánamo, so that the Cuban authorities can send it to the affected population.
The Cuban ambassador to Mexico, Marcos Rodríguez Costa, thanked this Friday for the donation which, he said, will allow support for the population of the Guantanamo region, affected by the storm. The donation “is a worthy example of the deep relationship between our countries,” said the diplomat on platform X.
