Mexico Confirms First Case of Monkeypox

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, MEXICO CITY – Deputy Minister of Health MexicoHugo Lopez-Gatell said that the country last Saturday reported monkey pox case (Monkeypox) first confirmed.

“The patient is a 50-year-old permanent resident in New York (United States) who is being treated in Mexico City. He may have been infected in the Netherlands,” Lopez-Gatell tweeted.

Earlier on Friday, Argentina became the first Latin American country to report a case of Monkeypox.

Some 20 countries where Monkeypox is not endemic have reported outbreaks of this viral disease, with more than 200 confirmed or suspected infections mostly in Europe.

Most cases of monkeypox or Monkeypox have recently been identified among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with other men (Hindustanewshub)

This outbreak has also raised the awareness of many parties, because Monkeypox, which is spread through close contact and was first discovered in these monkeys, mostly occurs in West and Central Africa.
