– A party was caught selling a fake novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine in Mexico.
On the 18th, Mexican authorities arrested six people after ambushing fake vaccinations at a medical institution outside Monterrey in northern Nuevo Leon.
They said they would be vaccinated with a vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer in the US and Bio&Tech in Germany, but it was a fake. The fake vaccine traded from 11,000 pesos (about 610,000 won) to 40,000 pesos (about 2.2 million won) per vaccination.
Local media estimates that about 80 people received the fake vaccine.
Mexico has been administering the Pfizer vaccine to medical staff since last December.
Mexican quarantine experts have been concerned about crime gangs’ vaccine theft and the manufacture of fake vaccines.
