MEXICO CITY
With 895 new deaths from covid-19, in Mexico the number of deaths rose to 32 thousand 14; 6 thousand 258 are the most recent contagions of coronavirus, reason why the accumulated one increased in 262 thousand 008.
Currently there are 26 thousand 557 active cases, mostly in Mexico City, the State of Mexico and Guanajuato. 163,646 people have recovered from the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Ministry of Health reported in its daily technical statement.
HOSPITAL OCCUPATION
According to the RED IRAG (Serious Acute Respiratory Infection), Tabasco registered 78 percent of occupancy in general beds, compared to 45 percent of national average occupancy. Nayarit recorded 74 percent and Nuevo León 70.
In fan beds, the national average occupancy is 38 percent.
In contrast, Baja California reported 63 percent, Nuevo León 55 percent, and Tabasco and Estado de México reported 52 percent.
MEXICO REQUESTED UN EQUITY TO ACCESS THE VACCINE
Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, indicated that the Government of Mexico, through its permanent ambassador, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, presented an initiative to the United Nations Organization (HIM-HER-IT) to achieve an equitable distribution, by the time the covid-19 vaccine is ready.
This proposal, which was already approved by a majority of votes, was made in view of the possibility that countries with economic capacity want to buy the greatest number of immunizations and speculation in the international market may occur.
This initiative is so that international organizations, specifically the United Nations and the World Health Organization, have an active role in seeking to avoid economic and commercial speculation that produces imbalances.
Imbalance means that whoever has money to pay will have it and whoever does not have to pay will not have it, even though the need does not correspond to that map of economic power, ”he explained.
