Mexico and the United States present their candidacy to organize the 2027 Women’s World Cup

Mexico City – Mexico and the United States presented their candidacy on Friday to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027.

The “New Heights” motto aims to propel women’s football to new heights.

The strategic alliance is key because both countries would take advantage of the sports and transportation infrastructure and security protocols of the World Cup that both nations will host in 2026.

It will be in February 2024 when FIFA inspects the venues and the host of the tenth Women’s World Cup will be chosen in May, during the 74th FIFA Congress.

“This is a crucial moment for women’s football. Around the world, Federations are beginning to invest more and more in women’s soccer and records for revenue, viewership and participation are being rewritten,” said US Soccer President Cindy Parlow.

“The United States and Mexico are in a unique position to host a World Cup that will take advantage of the same venues, infrastructure and protocols used for the men’s World Cup a year earlier.”

Ivar Sisniega, Executive President of the Mexican Soccer Federation, celebrated the candidacy.

“All participating teams will be able to experience the warmth and support of our fans, who appreciate women’s soccer and demonstrate it, week after week, with the success of our professional women’s league. “This is a great opportunity to grow women’s football and offer players a level playing field so they can shine and show the world how talented and professional they are,” she said.
