The president said during a press conference that “the AstraZeneca laboratory has signed an agreement to produce between 150 and 250 million vaccines for all of Latin America, except for Brazil.” These vaccines “will be available in the first half of 2021 and will be distributed equitably between countries at the request of governments.”

He added that “Latin American production will be carried out by Argentina and Mexico, and this will allow (the vaccine) to reach all countries in the region quickly and effectively.”

The Argentine president pointed out that the agreement concluded between the laboratory “AstraZeneca” and the “Carlos Slim” foundation, which will finance the production, “provides access to reasonable prices”, ranging between 3 and 4 dollars for the vaccine, and “this is very important for Latin America because it allows all our countries” to obtain On the vaccine, Fernandes said.
