Mexicans who have played for West Ham United: Edson Álvarez joins the list

On Thursday, August 10, the arrival of Edson Álvarez to West Ham United of the Premier League for the next five years was announced, joining the short list of Mexicans who have played for this club, cases that have been presented for 14 years and most with not so successful participations.

Guillermo “Guille” Franco

In his first year he played 28 games in the Premier League, three in the Carabao Cup and two in the FA Cup, finishing with 8 goals and one assist, missing some games due to injury and being a substitute in the last match of that campaign.

For the 2018-19 season, his numbers were very similar to those of the previous year, although he ended up playing fewer games due to the injuries he presented. He has appeared in 25 Premier League games, closing with seven goals and three assists.

For the following season he only appeared in the first two games before being sold to Sevilla in Spain.
