Mexican music band Grupo Firme has signed an exclusive global publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the company announced Monday (August 21). The band’s independent label, Music VIP Entertainment, is also part of the deal.

Last month, Grupo Firme concluded a tour of Central America with which it visited countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. That trip was preceded by a tour with a handful of arena and stadium dates across the United States. Grupo Firme currently has eight No. 1 hits on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart and four top 10 hits on Hot Latin Songs, including “El tóxico” with Carin León and “Cada quien” with Maluma.

Grupo Firme’s signing with UMPG comes almost a month after the publisher announced an exclusive global agreement with Jenni Rivera’s estate. In addition to Grupo Firme and Jenni Rivera, his roster includes other Mexican regional powerhouses such as Juan Gabriel, Espinosa Paz, Horacio Palencia and Yahritza y la Esencia de ella, who signed with UMPG in May.
