Mexican Mother Arrested After Allegedly Abandoning Newborn in Hospital Trash Can in NYC

Lucia Garcia, 21-year-old, a Mexican mother, was arrested on May 20 by officers of the New York Police Department (NYPD)after supposedly leaving his newborn son in a bathroom trash can from a hospital in the city health system.

The young mother commented to the New York Post, that she did not know that she was pregnant, and that she had not realized that she had thrown away her baby, as she argued that at the time she only thought that it was only blood.

The female resident of Staten Island He commented to the New York media that at no time had he thought of throwing his baby in the trash, as he realized the fact until a nurse told me later. Lucia Garcia was arrested while still covered in blood in the Staten Island University Hospital.

Lucia assures that after being bloody, she was attended to by the doctors, for which she was taken to a room where she was handcuffed to her bed, while the police officer sat in a chair in the corner of the room.

Currently the little newborn is being cared for by the medical services of the New York University Langone and in the custody of the Administration of Children’s Services of the city.

It should be noted that there is also a protection order against her, which was described in the arraignment. Her first court hearing will be on June 16.

For his part, his father, Ambrosio García, 41, stated that his daughter had insisted that she was not pregnant, so he took her to the hospital the night before because she was not feeling well.
