The Mexican group Cinépolis, one of the largest cinematographic exhibition conglomerates in the world, has confirmed that it will open, around the spring of next year in Inglewood, California, an entertainment center that will have twelve movie theaters, including an IMAX room , with kitchen service, becoming one of the only rooms in the world with these characteristics.
It will be a new addition to the Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas multiplex line of centers, occupying more than 5 thousand square meters of a commercial district of more than 120 hectares called Hollywood Park, home that this new theater will share with the SoFi Stadium, the YouTube Theater and the Headquarters of the West Coast of the NFL.
“The location is perfect,” said Luis Olloqui, CEO of Cinépolis USA, in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter magazine. Hollywood Park features a large outdoor retail space that spans almost 85,000 square meters and includes restaurants, an art gallery, coffee shops, fitness centers and more. “It’s right in the middle of Inglewood and there aren’t any malls or movie theaters nearby. The city is growing, and I think it deserves some of the scale and quality that the Hollywood Park team is bringing to the table,” added Olloqui.
This will become the first movie theater center to come to the city in decades, as noted by SoFi State and Hollywood Park director Jason Gannon.
“We want to bring the best possible experience and differentiate ourselves, offering the competent luxury, at affordable prices,” continued Olloqui before anticipating that the price of the tickets will be around that of the establishments that already exist of a similar nature, adding that they will have an “enhanced experience”.
The CEO also expressed the biggest challenge they are having to face in planning the project, the service: “We will have around 299 seats. Can you imagine serving 200 customers? It is a great challenge in terms of service and finding the right size for the kitchen.
This theater, with more than 1,200 seats, will also include a bar and restaurant that will also open for those who are not going to see a movie.
“We believe that, with all the streaming platforms out there in the world, we have to offer an experience and a service that makes you get up from the couch and go to the movies, and for that there has to be a combination of the size of the screen, the quality of the sound, how comfortable the seats are and, on top of that, the inclusion of a service of the highest level. We are trying to make the experience very different from staying in your own home,” concluded Olloqui.
