Mexican goalkeeper Alex Padilla makes his LaLiga debut with Athletic Club on Matchday 1 | TUDN La Liga

The goalkeeper of Basque origin but also with Mexican nationality, was part of the Bilbao team’s squad under the orders of the Spanish technical director Ernesto Valverde.

Alex Padilla played seven pre-season games with Athletic Club until he gained the trust of Ernesto Valverde, who was a two-time champion with FC Barcelona in LaLiga, in addition to winning a Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.

The 20-year-old Mexican goalkeeper was even part of the Mexican National Team that participated in the last Maurice Revello tournament, where he played in two matches with a victory against Saudi Arabia and a defeat against the Ivory Coast.

Alex Padilla had already been part of Athletic Club in the top league of Spanish football, but he remained on the bench, so for this new season he had the opportunity to debut between the three posts against Getafe.
