Mexican Film ‘Tótem’ to Compete at the Oscars

Morelia, Michoacán.- The film ‘Tótem’, directed by Lila Avilés, will represent Mexico to compete in the Best International Film category at the Oscars, reported the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC).

The Mexican director expressed her love for the film on her social networks and thanked her for the opportunity to represent Mexico in the film competition.

‘Totem’ revolves around Sol, a seven-year-old girl, who, accompanied by a group of aunts and family, organizes her father’s birthday and among the preparations revelations will appear that will transform her outlook.

Tótem is part of the Official Selection of the 20th edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) to be held from October 20 to 29.
