Throughout his professional career, Farnesio Bernal collaborated with great figures, such as Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, with whom he worked on “His Excellence” (1967) and “Por mis pistolas” (1968). He acted with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas in the film “Original Sin” (2001), with Anthony Hopkins in “One man’s war” and also participated with Guillermo del Toro in “The Invention of Cronos” (1993), who dedicated the following film to him message.

His last project was in 2020, a monologue entitled “On the damage that tobacco does… and something else”, which was broadcast on Facebook by the National Theater Company of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature, to which he belonged for almost five decades.

For Bernal, the theater was one of his great passions and he did not conceive that there were people who dedicate themselves to this art just to gain recognition or for money.

“There are actors who succeed and now, they play the same character, there are people who go to the theater, to acting, not because they love it, but because they want to be famous, rich, admired, not because they want to dedicate themselves to the theater, they succeed, but I say… it would give me satisfaction for other reasons that are talent, the love that one has for his career,” he said in an interview with Cristina Pacheco.
