Domingo Tapia died after spending almost seven years in a coma after a stranger hit him on a street in Brooklyn (NYC) and his family is requesting financial assistance from the Mexican Consulate to help pay for his funeral.

Tapia had been hospitalized, unresponsive, since He was hit in the face while riding his bike in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn in June 2017. The father of two was then 38 years old and was attacked on Fulton Street, near Albany Avenue, while traveling home from his job at a grocery store, suffering a skull fracture.
Tapia was placed in a medically induced coma. His two children were then 5 and 7 years old. Now the only thing left of him are the memories by the hospital bed where he was seen for most of his short life.
