Mexican Consulate In Austin Offers Free Vaccines Against COVID-19 This Friday

The Consulate of Mexico in Austin will be offering free vaccines against COVID-19 during a vaccination session organized for the morning of Friday, September 24, said its spokesman Miguel Soto Bernal.

During the event, those interested will be able to receive first or second doses of the vaccine manufactured by Pfizer, or the single dose required by Johnson & Johnson.

Soto Bernal specified that it is not necessary to make an appointment to participate and that medical insurance or identification papers will not be required. He also said that “all the personnel in charge of vaccination speak English / Spanish and we have interpreters from our health window if necessary.”

Business hours this Friday will be from 9 am to 1 pm at the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin, located at 5202 E Ben White Blvd., Suite 150.

The initiative is part of the efforts of the “health window” del Consulate, a free service that offers guidance on health issues, referral services to community clinics and early detection tests for the HIV virus, glucose and cholesterol levels, among other services.

Soto Bernal said that vaccination dates for next November have yet to be confirmed.
