The MLS continues to dominate in the summer tournament, now they managed to get eleven of their teams to the Round of 16, a figure that doubles the number of Mexican teams that were able to advance, being only five.

Toluca, Querétaro, América, Tigres and Monterrey managed to overcome their rivals to stay alive in the Leagues Cup, while Atlas, Pumas, Pachuca, Mazatlán, Juárez, Cruz Azul and León did not have the same luck. These teams will have to return to Mexico and focus on the Apertura 2023 that will resume as soon as the summer tournament ends.

Despite this, they will receive a good amount for their participation, in addition to the bonus that will be awarded for reaching the round of 16. While in the first round, USD 100,000 per game would be given, plus a bonus of USD 50,000 per victory, so each club had the opportunity to earn more than 2.5 million pesos per game. The five clubs that managed to advance have already secured an additional purse of USD 450,000, along with the sums in the round of 16 and in the group stage.

The cañoneros and the rojinegros totaled USD 300,000 in the first phase as a result of the two victories they obtained. Added to their bonus for reaching the next round, they will take a total of USD 600,000, an estimate of more than 10 million pesos.

The Universitarios, Cementeros, and Bravos only got a victory in the first round, which left them with a figure of USD 250,000, added to what they obtained from their pass to the second round. With this, each team will take a total of USD 550 thousand, that is, 9.5 million pesos

The Tuzos were the most affected in the tournament, in terms of football and economic issues, because they qualified directly to the second round, so they could not have extra income from group stage matches, they were also eliminated in their first match. Because of this, they only managed to add USD 300,000 for playing the round of 16, which left them with only five million pesos.

According to the figures released, the champion will be awarded USD 2 million and the runner-up will receive a consolation bonus of USD 900,000. The semifinals will give an extra USD 700,000, while the Quarterfinals will reward USD 600,000.

So far, Tigres, Monterrey and Toluca are the teams that have earned the most money for their performance, earning USD 300,000 for the first phase, USD 300,000 for the round of 16 and USD 450 for reaching the Round of 16, which leaves them with one million 50 thousand dollars, more than 17 million pesos, an amount that may increase as they continue to advance.
