Metzervisse. A park project led by students from IUT Thionville-Yutz

At the request of the Metzervisse town planning commission, a group of second-year biological engineering students, environmental engineering option at the IUT of Thionville-Yutz, worked on a proposal for the development of a park with a nature trail on a “green corridor” which extends from the city-stadium, near the school, to the east, to La Bibiche, to the west. That is an area with an area of about 290 ares.

The group came to present the results of their study to elected officials at the last city council meeting at the cultural centre. Different themes have been developed: the target public, the direction of traffic, access roads, facilities for sports, educational and recreational activities, as well as the creation of a water annex. “The proposals also had to respond to constraints linked to bioclimatics, eco-responsibility and the development of biodiversity”, explained Anne-Catherine Thill, student tutor.
