The women’s team cracks the Crefelder SV in a high-scoring association league encounter. The men’s team only turns up after the break.
Mettmanner THC – Crefelder SV (women) 5: 3 (3: 1). The Mettmann women’s team started the indoor season of the 1st Association Hockey League with a well-deserved victory. “It was noticeable to the team that the transition from the grass pitch to the hall parquet was not going so quickly, but in the end we got off to a good start. I cannot yet say whether there will be enough for promotion at the end of the season. Our squad is good, but it’s quite small, ”said team manager Kokan Stojanovic.

With a double strike by Viktoria Marx and Sabrina Stojanovic, Mettmann took an early 2-0 lead. The Krefeld women bet on the counterattack – one led to 1: 2 (21st). Shortly before the break, Jessica Balzer increased to 3: 1. Two minutes after the break, the guests reduced it to 2: 3. The MTHC was not impressed by this. Sabrina Stojanovic used the good preparatory work of Nina Müller, extended the lead to 4: 2 with a backhand. Krefeld responded with the goal to make it 3: 4 (48th). Mettmanner THC – Hellerhofer SV 4: 0 (0: 0). The hosts put Hellerhof under pressure right from the start. Despite several good chances, she didn’t want to score in the first half. Even three penalty corners were unsuccessful, and MTHC keeper Nikolai Huland had to be vigilant with some guest counterattacks. “During the half-time break, David Fritschi demanded more bite in the duels and more concentration from his boys”, reported hockey boss Wolfgang Weiß. After fine preparatory work by Anton Kebbe, Philipp Gut scored the 1-0 lead (40th) for the now more offensive MTHC. Three minutes later, after a penalty corner, Gutt put the ball in the Düsseldorf goal to make it 2-0. After the guests awarded a seven-meter throw, the MTHC made it 3-0 through David Fritsche. Sebastian Moritz increased it to 4-0.
