“But aren’t they real? ” It’s incredible, but some visitors imagine coming across real dinosaurs… John Pilch, animation manager at Dinosaurs World, is amused when we say this to him: “they disappeared more than sixty million years ago years of the consequences of the fall of a meteorite! »

The traveling exhibition installed next to the Hippodrome de Bron Parilly allows you to leave unbeatable on the subject. Its two huge white barnums house around thirty robotic giants, reconstituted to life size, made in China. Triceratops, allosaurs, stegosaurus… some roar under the flashing lights. The most feared being of course the Tyrannosaurus Rex, “kings of the tyrant lizards”, presented in a skeleton version or in “flesh” at the end of the course.

A circuit that ends with a curiosity, the Indomilus Rex (indomitable king), a species that never existed, a hybrid 15 m long and 6 m high, created to relaunch attendance at the Jurassic World park.

“We learn things from it”

The organizers left nothing to chance. “There is material”, admits a dad, leaning on the well-fed explanatory panels. Children also have everything to gain by watching them closely: a 15-question quiz is given to them on arrival,… and a diploma on leaving. “We learn things from it”, smiles this couple from Feyzin, crossed at the exit of the cabin of the 8D simulator. For 2 euros more, they could immerse themselves for five minutes in a prehistoric world with 3D glasses and movable seats.

“It’s worth it, it’s a mini Futuroscope,” says the father, while the eight-year-old son is captivated by the excavation workshops set up in two large sandboxes, busy clearing carcasses with a brush.

Then comes the moment of entertainment with “Brigitte” a triceratops, then “Blue”, a velociraptor who go around the track before going to be petted by the public, while John, former clown of the Piste aux Étoiles , delivers a wealth of information on the life of these extinct species. They can be used to complete forms. “They are very soft, I was not afraid”, appreciates Martin, from the top of his four years.

The visit can end near three huge inflatable structures, an opportunity for parents to land near the souvenir shop, and the refreshment bar (with pancakes, popcorn and hot dogs). “It’s well done, well done, it makes for a rewarding family outing” concludes this mother from Saint-Priest, satisfied with her morning.

Until March 5, Dinosaurs World, at the Parilly racecourse, 4 avenue Pierre Mendes France, Bron. Adult admission: €11.99, children from 3 to 11 years old: €9.99. Detailed timetables on the site: www.expo-dinosaursworld.com

After the trail to the stars…

This traveling exhibition was created in September 2021 in Bilbao (Spain), by Roger Falck and his father. “These two circus artists from the Piste aux étoiles (8e generation) wanted to resume an activity after the pandemic”, says John Pilch, an Italian, a former clown who welcomes the public, while his sister, a former clown, also runs the cash register.

The team of about thirty people is cosmopolitan (Italian, French, Spanish, Bulgarian…) Reconverted artists, they appreciate this life of travelling, … under other tents.
