The Genêts / Kimmerling sector is set for major changes in the coming years. Located in Bron, on the edge of Villeurbanne and 3And Lyon district, this area will host strong new lines of public transport and real estate projects should thrive there.
As part of this urban project, the Lyon Metropolis has just opened a consultation on the development of public road spaces; local residents can express their expectations and ideas until 10 October.

Buses, trams, real estate projects
The operation covers an area of approximately 23,000 m², between Route de Genas, Rue Georges-Clémenceau, Impasse Chapuis and Chemin du Vinatier. The construction of a residential complex of 310 residential units and shops on the ground floor is planned; the current Lidl and La Vie claire would also have been transferred there.
In 2026, the high-level service bus will connect Part-Dieu to Sept-Chemins in 25 minutes; this BHLS will pass through the Genas street, just like the future cycle path n ° 11 which will lead to Chassieu. On the Chemin du Vinatier side, in 2026 the T6 tramway will be extended to the La Doua district in Villeurbanne.
Due to these changes, the Métropole is responsible for overhauling the road network. For example, rue de l’Industrie should be extended from chemin du Vinatier to rue Clémenceau.
