Metropolis of Grenoble. Parking prices are expected to increase

Four months after an update of on-street parking prices in Grenoble, the metropolitan council will in turn deliberate, this Friday, on an evolution of its grid. This time the 21 public car parks belonging to the mixed economy company with single operation (Semop) “Park Grenoble Alpes Métropole” (1) are targeted. Despite a surplus result of 230,000 euros in 2021, the 2022 balance sheet looks more gloomy due to attendance below forecasts, in particular in the car parks around Grenoble station on the one hand, and another from the increase in electricity prices. Already in 2020, due to the health crisis, the car parks had suffered significant financial losses, forcing the Métropole and Effia to make “financial efforts” to sustain their operation.
