As part of the publication of its 5th Sustainability Report, MetroGAS presented progress in sustainable development, technological investment and infrastructure modernization.
This 2023 report, the first on an annual level published by MetroGAS, the natural gas distributor with the largest number of clients in Argentina, reflects the Progress on issues related to the reduction of carbon emissions, sustainable development, technological investment and infrastructure modernizationamong other values that reinforce the work to provide a safe and reliable service, and that places the customer at the center as a fundamental condition.
“With the launch of our new sustainability report, we invite you to learn how we are building a more sustainable future. We have outlined a clear strategy for 2027, covering six key lines of action to address our economic, social and environmental impacts.” explained Tomas Cordoba, President and CEO of MetroGAS.
He also added that the new report “It not only reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and the implementation of new initiatives, but also highlights how the company’s approach reinforces a safe and reliable operation, always putting the customer at the centre of our decisions.”
Prepared under the GRI Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative and the SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board) indicators, the document presents in each chapter its achievements and challenges linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and, in addition, reviews the company’s contribution to the 2030 Agenda proposed by the United Nations.

Environment
MetroGAS reached a 15% reduction in carbon emissions over the past three yearswhich is equivalent to planting more than 50,000 trees in urban areas. In addition, the company invested 30% of its annual budget in modernizing its infrastructureimproving operational efficiency and ensuring the safety of its users.
Waste management was also a key focus, with the delivery of more than 3,000 kilos of recyclable materials. He also completed the survey of more than 20,000 kilometers of pipelinescomplying with 100% of its regulatory plan.

In 2023, MetroGAS was strengthened ethics and integrity practices as part of its commitment to responsible governance. A 97% of its employees adhered to the Code of Ethics and more than 300 employees received specific training on integrity issues.
