Metro TV Journalist Dies in Accident KSAD Troop Sitting in Merauke

MERAUKEKOMPAS.com – Metro TV journalist, Roy Darsono, was also a victim of the crash of the Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurrachman’s entourage who was on a working visit to Merauke, PapuaTuesday (12/4/2022).

Roy died after being treated in critical condition at Bunda Pengharapan Hospital due to serious head injuries.

Consultant Surgeon at Bunda Pengharapan Hospital, Merauke, doctor Willi, said the victim died at around 20.30 WIT.

“The victim had bleeding inside the brain,” Willi said when contacted Kompas.comTuesday.

Willi said that when the accident occurred, Roy was sitting on the left side of the second row of passenger seats from the front.

The accident also killed First Lieutenant Cpm Kadek Suhardiyana.

Kadek’s condition, said Willi, was already dead when he arrived at the hospital.

Meanwhile Roy’s body has been buried in the funeral home on Jalan Kampung Timur, Merauke.

The KSAD Dudung car group is known to have had an accident on the Trans Papua Kilometer 61 Road section, Merauke.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 WIT this morning while following a group of Army Chief of Staff to the Sota District.
