Tullio Ferrante Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport this morning carried out an inspection on the construction site of the Salerno metro (Arechi route) – Pontecagnano airport. He was accompanied by engineers Ciro Napoli e Michele Trentadue respectively investment manager and Campania project manager of RFI (FS Group). «My presence today demonstrates how high the Government’s attention is to this territory which, first with the opening of the airport and soon with the construction of the subway as an integral part of it, is experiencing a period of growth in the tourism and profound relaunch also in the transport sector, as an added value for Campania and for the whole of Southern Italy», said Ferrante.
The same undersecretary at MIT he then added: «With the delivery in June of the works relating to the Asi stop, and then in September of the works of the phase A works relating to the 3 km of section between the Arechi and Asi stations, we have achieved important goals, the result of constant commitment and continuous discussions with RFI. The works must continue in compliance with the timetable with the aim of completing the metro by June 2026. For this reason I will continue to personally follow every phase of the creation of such a decisive work, the flagship of a territory that wants to grow».
