Metro-North Railroad Announces Additional Train Service on Hudson Line for Fall Foliage and Outdoor Activities

Metro-North Railroad announced Friday the return of additional train service on the Hudson Line for customers to enjoy fall foliage and outdoor activities in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, children under five can ride for free and children ages 5 to 11 can ride for $1.00 if accompanied by an adult. Starting this Saturday, October 7 through November 25, five additional trains, who bear his name “Leaf Peeper,” will operate on Saturdays and four additional trains on Sundays to take passengers from the New York City metropolitan area to the incomparably scenic Hudson River Valley.

Fall activities are already beginning in the New York area, and for lovers of trains and foliage the season comes a very fun one.

This is because the Metro-North Railroad announced on Friday the return of additional train service in the Hudson Line for customers to enjoy fall foliage and outdoor activities in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, children under five can ride for free and children ages 5 to 11 can ride for $1.00 if accompanied by an adult.

Starting this Saturday, October 7 until November 25, five additional trains, named “Leaf Peeper,” will operate on Saturdays and four additional trains on Sundays to take passengers from the New York City metropolitan area to the incomparably scenic Hudson River Valley.

“Fall is the best season to experience everything the Hudson Valley has to offer,” said Metro-North Railroad President and LIRR Interim President Catherine Rinaldi. “If you’re looking for weekend plans, Metro-North wants to make it easy for you to hop on a Hudson Line train, enjoy the beautiful fall foliage, or grab a bite to eat at one of the Hudson Valley’s top restaurants.”

Along with the additional “Leaf Peeper” trains, half-hour midday and afternoon service to Poughkeepsie will be restored beginning Sunday, October 29, with six trains added on Saturdays and four trains on Sundays.

Metro-North’s schedule update will include additional departure trains on holidays, including the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Saturdays and Sundays

Northbound

8:31 a.m. from Grand Central, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown and Ossining, then making all stops to Beacon, including Manitou and Breakneck Ridge. 9:31 am from Grand Central, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining, then making all stops to Poughkeepsie, including Manitou and Breakneck Ridge. 10:31 am from Grand Central, stopping at Harlem-125th Street, Tarrytown, Ossining, then making all stops to Poughkeepsie, including Manitou and Breakneck Ridge.

To the south

4:39 pm from Poughkeepsie, making all stops to Ossining, including Breakneck Ridge and Manitou, then Tarrytown, Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central, arriving at 6:36 pm 5:39 pm from Poughkeepsie, making all stops to Ossining, including Breakneck Ridge and Manitou, then Tarrytown, Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central, arriving at 7:36 p.m.
