Metro line 4 arrives in Bagneux. Two new stations inaugurated today.

After six years of work, the second busiest line of the Paris metro serves two new stations in Bagneux: Barbara and Bagneux-Lucie Aubrac. an additional 37,000 travelers are expected each day.

This is one of the expected novelties of this early 2022, the extension of line 4 – to the south of Paris – comes into force this Thursday, January 13.  After six years of work, the inhabitants of Hauts-de-Seine will be able to benefit from two new stations on line 4, which currently connects the Porte de Clignancourt and the town hall of Montrouge.

Just after the current terminus, “Mairie de Montrouge”, travelers will be able to get to “Barbara”, named after the singer. And why not continue the journey to the end of the line: “Bagneux-Lucie Aubrac”, named after the teacher and resistance fighter. This terminus will be located in the heart of the Martyrs district of Châteaubriant.

Line 4, one of the few on the Paris rail network connecting the capital from south to north, will be extended a total of 1800 meters. 37,000 more travelers are expected there every day, in addition to the 700,000 who already use it daily.

Line 4 is the second busiest line after line 1 (Château de Vincennes – La Défense). The RATP specifies on its website it will take 21 minutes to travel between Bagneux-Lucie Aubrac and Châtelet-Les Halles, in the center of Paris. Dsince Monday, December 20 at 5:30 a.m., all the trains of line 4 have been making the clear walk to the new terminus before the official commissioning.
